An exhilarating evening on the slopes for Stepping Stones

Plymouth Ski Slope & Snowboard Centre kindly welcomed 18 children & young people from our Stepping Stones Project for an evening of exhilarating festivities.
They were treated to a Christmas Party like no other and enjoyed an exciting evening full of toboggan runs & snow tubing! Joe aged 7 said: “It was brilliant, I didn’t realise the toboggan would be so fast. I loved it!”
After taking on the slopes, the Ski Centre put on a delicious Christmas meal for everyone to enjoy. The staff were so lovely & really helped to make it a very special evening for everyone. The children were so delighted to receive their Christmas presents from In Kind Direct too.

Experiencing the terminal illness of a parent is something that no child should have to go through, but sadly each year many do.
Our Stepping Stones Project gives these children & young people the opportunity to meet fortnightly in a group setting, where they can express themselves creatively in a safe space and be with others who truly understand what they are facing.

“We’d like to say a big thank you to Plymouth Ski Slope & Snowboard Centre for providing our families with this fantastic opportunity! Christmas can be a very sad & tricky time of year for them & it was truly magical to see the children having fun & families coming together at this difficult time!”
To have an anchor point for fun is crucial in the lives of those children for whom Christmas brings a mixture of seasonal excitement and the sadness of loss. Opportunities like this would not be possible without the fantastic support received from local Plymouth Businesses.
A BIG THANK YOU to Plymouth Ski Centre & their fabulous team for putting on a fantastic evening for our Stepping Stones families! We are ever so grateful for their support.
And also thank you to Russell at So Perfect Images for photographing the event for us.
