Jarvis Nuclear bump up their membership and support for a second year!
Written by Paul Jarvis
Strange as it may seem, I met a bear at a speedway meeting just over a year ago. I remember the bear being very tall, and smartly dressed in a snazzy blue t-shirt. No offence to short, badly dressed bears, but this one did make an impression. The bear was being escorted by some supporters collecting for Jeremiah’s Journey. I found out a bit more about the charity, attended one of their fun and informative networking events and became a member of the Follow the Bear campaign.
I have been in awe of the work that the staff and volunteers of Jeremiah’s do. I cannot begin to imagine what it must be like to be in a position where you or your family need to call on the team’s services and support. But the support they do; through their team of clinical psychologists they provide carefully tailored support sessions to help families come to terms with close bereavement.
The charity, like many others, are facing difficulties with fundraising activities. As a result, my company have decided to increase the level of support to our charity of choice. We ask that everyone who can afford to give a bit more, considers giving more to the charity of their choice at these immensely challenging times. Charities such as Jeremiah’s Journey that do not receive any national / government funding are struggling to raise funds but still have a demand for their vital services. A little bit from you or your company will mean a huge amount to those that charities support. Please continue to support the work of charities such as Jeremiah’s Journey.
And the bear? I understand the bear is keeping safe and well, but rumour has it the t-shirt is a bit snug after lockdown!
