Captain Sir Tom Moore’s family release the ‘Captain Tom 100’ Challenge to celebrate his amazing achievements and mark what would have been his 101st birthday!
On this day last year, Captain Sir Tom Moore embarked on his famous 100 laps and raised an outstanding £38.9 million for the NHS Covid-19 appeal. Now, his family and The Captain Tom Foundation are inviting everyone across the UK and around the world to build on his legacy by taking part in the Captain Tom 100 Challenge.
Following his sad passing in February, Captain Tom’s family pledged to arrange a worldwide event to celebrate his life and low and behold #CaptainTom100.
Friday 30th April 2021 would have been Tom’s 101st birthday and a year since the completion of his incredible mission. The family have therefore chosen this date and through to Monday 3rd May 2021 for their new challenge.
Open to people of all ages, the challenge is based around the number ‘100’ and the activity can be anything you like. For example, you could walk 100 laps like Tom, cycle 100 miles, bake 100 cakes, sing and dance for 100 minutes or complete 100 good deeds.
Once you have chosen your challenge, it’s simple to set up your fundraising page or donate and don’t forget to share your efforts on social media using #CaptainTom100.
