Hi. This section of our website is for young people who are at secondary school in Plymouth and the surrounding areas e.g. Tavistock, Saltash, Torpoint and Ivybridge.
You may be looking at our website because someone significant in your life has died or maybe you have a parent who is terminally or seriously ill. Often it can feel like you are the only one in your class or school who is experiencing grief and that no one else truly understands what it is like. We meet many young people each year who have been or are going through something similar to you.
We have a fun but chilled out teenagers group that you can attend to figure out some feelings you might have when someone dies. There will be kids aged 11-17 in this group and we do some talking and some activities to and explore our feelings, memories and how can we manage with all of this, on top of being a teenager!
Stepping Stone’s is a group that happens every two weeks either at the Plymouth College of Art and Design or out in the community for families with someone who is very unwell and dying. You come with your family, have fun, build lots of cool memories but also have chances to explore how this might feel for you and those around you.
Sometimes when a young person needs some extra support outside of one of our groups or finds it difficult to attend a group then someone from Jeremiah’s Journey can come and see you in school or at home. During 1-1 sessions, you will have the same Jeremiah’s Journey worker every time and it will be focussed around what you’re feeling and how you’re doing. You can do a bit of talking or maybe some activities.
