We are delighted to announce that Jeremiah’s Journey has been successfully awarded an INCREDIBLE £243,973 from The Big Lottery Fund over three years!
As a completely self-funded charity we rely on donations from the local community, legacy monies and our own fundraising events throughout the year.
However, this year the charity applied to The Big Lottery for additional funding over the next 3 years and has been successfully awarded money to help continue the very much needed clinical work. The project starts in August and news about how it is going will be shared on our website.
‘The team are absolutely thrilled. It’s an amazing opportunity to have been successful with the bid for the Big Lottery money. This will give the charity funding to help to support the individual and group work for families at a very challenging time in their lives’.
Many of the children we meet say that they feel alone in their grief. Attending one of our group programmes means that they meet other children who have been through something similar and understand best the impact a bereavement can have.
The sessions use creative activities to enable the children to: express their feelings of grief; share their memories and explore ways of coping.
We’d like to say a big thank you to The Big Lottery Fund for giving us the opportunity to apply for such a fantastic grant! We are overwhelmed by this incredible amount and what it will allow us to do within the community.
THANK YOU for making a difference to grieving families in Plymouth!
