On Sat 6th September Rob Cowell will be getting his kit on and setting off on his bike to take part in the Moor 2 Sea Challenge He will be taking the ‘Extreme’ route which is the most challenging route available. The route starts and finishes at Exeter Racecourse and covers a total distance of approximately 112 miles (180 km) with almost 12,000 ft of climbing!
Rob decided to do the challenge to support Jeremiah’s Journey after going along to the Friends of Jeremiah’s Journey Booze Cruise in July. He was very moved when he discovered what we did and decided that he would like to raise some money for us.
Rob said ‘I work for Babcock International in the dockyard as an Assistant Safety Engineer, and have done for 2.5 years. I recently bought a bike on the Cycle to Work scheme and wanted to do more than cycle to and from work. I set a goal to do a challenging cycling event; Moor2Sea was suggested and was the right challenge for me…also knowing the importance of every penny that is raised for this small charity has given me extra motivation for the event and for the cause’
Rob has been training hard for this event and recently did 50 miles on his bike. He has so far raised £370 and is hoping to smash his target of £500! If you would like to help him reach his target please click here
