On Sunday 6th July 146 ‘plodders’ took part in our annual Parish Plod. The scenic 9 mile walk started from the White Thorn Inn at Shaugh Prior. The sun shone as people registered and collected their goodie bag consisting of treats to help them on their way.
Tinkerbell (Upon a Wish) came to sprinkle fairy dust on the walkers to help them ‘fly’ through the walk and Jeremiah was on hand to wave everyone off. The pair even had time to feature in some fabulous photos taken of the walkers by Liberty Pearl Photography*.
The Plod was started off by the White Thorns very own Will Lord. The ‘plodders’ headed off, first of all, to Cadover bridge for a drink where unfortunately they were met with a big downpour of rain. However, they did not let this dampen their spirits! From here they walked on to The Royal Oak at Meavy for a spot of lunch. They then moved on to the Skylark and finally finished back at the White Thorn were they were met with the fantastic sounds from Last Orders and the delicious aroma of the BBQ.
We hope everyone enjoyed the day and cannot thank you enough for coming and supporting our event. It was a huge success and raised more than £1500 from the event with more still to come in!
