On Sunday 11th May lots of families took part in our first ever Teddy Bear Toddle at the beautiful Buckland Abbey. The sun shone as families met and registered for the 1 mile walk. Jeremiah was on hand to say hello and we even had Cinderella there to greet our little guests.
The Toddle was completed at individuals own pace, gently strolling through the beautiful woodlands laced with bluebells, the cows popped over to say hello and the sheep were very excited to see everyone passing through!
Using the Explorers Map the children could take part in a Teddy Trail with teddies hidden on the route and questions to answer. On completing the walk every child received a goody bag complete with their own certificate and lots of other treats.
Although we experienced a few showers it didn’t dampen the mood as the children enjoyed a picnic and playing with Cinderella, there was face painting and a raffle with lovely treats to win including these delicious cupcakes by the Cheeky Cake Company.
Liberty Pearl also took some stunning pics which were available to buy on the day and can be seen in our Gallery along with other people’s pictures from the day. Just click here
The afternoon ended with dancing with Cinderella (Upon a Wish) and Jeremiah throwing a few interesting shapes.
We hope everyone enjoyed the day and cannot thank you enough for coming and supporting our event, a final total will be announced, but it is currently looking like we raised approx. £550 (more sponsorship money may come in) – we are thrilled with this especially for a first time event!
We would also like to thank our Friends Group and volunteers for helping the day to run so smoothly, we couldn’t do it without you!
Do check out our events calendar for other events coming soon.
