In April this year siblings Alex & Erin enjoyed a joint birthday party at Woodford Methodist Hall in Plympton. As they celebrate their birthdays so close together mum Hannah decided to give them a joint party.
Alex (who turned 4) and Erin (who turned 1) had a fantastic time with their friends and enjoyed inflatable toy fun and party food. However, there was one thing missing… presents.
Mum and dad – Hannah and Mike asked all Alex and Erin’s friends to give a donation to Jeremiah’s Journey instead of presents. Hannah said ‘Both Alex and Erin have plenty of toys to play with, they really don’t need any more. So, we thought why not ask friends to donate the money they would have spent on a birthday present to a worthy cause instead. We chose Jeremiah’s Journey because they are a local, children’s charity who do great work within the community. We wanted the families they support to benefit from our friends generosity on our children’s birthdays’.
The total raised from the party was £93.71 which could pay for a ‘Jeremiah’ teddy bear for 18 children who go through our group programme.
A huge thank you to Alex, Erin, Hannah, Mike and all their friends and family for their fantastic donation.
